arriving and leaving. Jean-Felix Pap park will return to its secluded, private status. And cyclists will ride past and talk about how there used to be this brilliant bike café hidden behind the walls.

I have a standing joke – What do you call a  bicycle café in Belgium? A café. It refers, clearly, to  the bicycle friendly atmosphere that is in just about every café in the country. That people simply ride up and settle in.

But a clear bicycle café is hard to find. A place that has strong outreach into the cycling community, where the café exists over and above a bicycle shop, where the cycling community gathers.

At least Tandem has proven there is a base for their future.
