“Critical Mass rides tonight. When the ride is over, we are having a party as Place de la Liberté. That is what I am bringing this sound system for.”
Notes: I never get enough chances to ride Critical Mass. My boss keeps scheduling me to work. But the event is quite important. Worldwide, on the last Friday of every month, cyclists band together in a spontaneous ride to demonstrate the presence and importance of cycling. It is both a fun ride as well as a crucial advocacy element, imposing cycling on the road infrastructure. The ride can attract dozens to hundreds of cyclists, any age, and they traverse the city, making themselves visible to drivers who often see them as irrelevant. Brussels gathers at Porte de Namur, around 18:00. And now the days are longer, it is slightly more enjoyable.
