Barry Sandland/TIMB – For the second consecutive year in Paris.
Paris, one of the finest tourist cities in the world, is having a day without cars. A chance to see Paris, the monuments, iconic figures, even ride down the Champs d’Elysée, without cars. About the only times that happens is the final stage of the Tour de France.
Or, it could be the first Sunday of every month, as Paris has banned cars from a series of routes in the city then, in an effort to curb pollution in the city.
It is only the second year, consecutive, that Paris has joined the city wide Day Without Cars community. But the response to the event has been strong and the city is considering having a day without cars more often during the year. This year is impossible, but next year, I hope to be there. But I was there recently, so I have a couple of photos to post in the next few days.
