“I’m going to race cold. I hate racing cold. You push yourself and can just hear something pop.”

Notes: The track day at the Championships and this was the standing start for one lap. Hard out, as fast as you can, for one solitary lap. Not as easy as it seems.

Riders had to choose between track stand start or just a  foot down. But that first pull, from hero to speed, can seem interminably long. Speed can come slowly. And yet we all think we pull away from traffic lights like rockets.

And then there is Yogi, complete with my favourite t-shirt.
