Cycloperativa and the occasional challenges

The bike was pulled from the bike shed for repairs – but might have been a little more than the night bargained for.

For every shop, there can be challenges that exceed the intentions. This bike was pulled from the back of the shops in order to be repaired and, as one stage was begun, a second step was required. Soon there were more tools, more mechanics and more parts scattered about the bicycle, each trying to advance.

Mechanics who work at Cycloperativa come from various shops all over Brussels. Sit there long enough, and you start seeing the range. There are enough bikes donated, in various condition, that have to be refurbished before being passed on to the next owner. Some challenges are not so easy.

As for me, I was entertained to see the parts being scattered across the sidewalk. Each piece finding its spot on the concrete before its eventual position – either on the bike or back in the shop.
