World Naked Bike Ride: Well, in the rest of the world, it was last week. Belgium had their’s today. I have a massive admiration for people who can do this. Shed their costumes and ride bare-fleshed and not feel like cringing and sheltering themselves. I am not as independent as they are.
Some brilliant people – and almost everyone more than willing to allow me to take a photo. Modesty is not an issue. I suppose it might take something from the public aspect of the event.
I followed them for a kilometre or so and then slipped off and left them to their own adventure. I felt my clothes would be proof that I was a not really of them. And they deserved the adventure to be shared amongst like-minded people. Not admirers or faint of heart.
I am going to post a few photos over the weekend and let their celebration be shared. The joy of a blog is that I can post the original photos. For Facebook and Instagram, their policies about nudity are very severe and so the images are slightly retouched. Oh well.. modern life. …
