“This is actually my wife’s bike, but she has a new one, so I took this. Only because my bike was stolen, so I have stolen her’s. But, I suppose, if it is your wife, it is not really stealing.”
Notes: Again and again, I meet people who have had their bikes stolen. One after the other. I used to think it was occasional in Brussels. Now I am starting to think it is ridiculously high.
I tend to worry about my bike whenever I am out with it. If it goes on a pole, I hope I can see it constantly. When I go to supermarkets and the like, I look for a space where, for some reason, I think it will be safer. It is all a delusion, of course. When they want your bike, when they see the opportunity, it is gone.
