My background was road excitement as a teen and building a bike, Campagnolo throughout, like the pros had. My hero was Eddy Merckx. Now my heroes are Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish, who have both ridden here and ridden here for a long period of time.

I was born in Coventry and had a similar stadium that was 450m with an athletic track inside. When I was a teenager, all my friends rode track and I thought they were compete nutters because it was all single speed, no brakes, fixed wheel,  and I could not get my head around it. So I did time trials and road racing for Coventry Road Club. I came to college in London to do grapijc design and it was the only place to come. And, lucky enough 21 years ago, I moved to East Dulwich, which is three-quarters of a mile of the globally iconic Herne Hill Velodrome. The childhood place of people like Bradley Wiggins, Seb Coe and his father have ridden here. And we have a number of national and international champions that have ridden here.
