Stop, then start, but just keep moving

I am a personal trainer and this is my mode of transport. I used to work in Holborn and it was quicker to cycle than get the tube, and a bit more pleasant. I started doing that and it just continued. It is free, it is healthy, and it is quicker. It’s just a no-brainer in London.

I used to have an office job. I was in advertising. I made the change to personal trainer four years ago, right in the middle of the crash, and I decided to start my own business. I did have a car but it just became so expensive to use, so I sold it, got a road bike and I have never looked back.

I use it for about 20 miles a day but, unfortunately, I do not get a chance to do those long 60-milers. I do five miles here and five miles there.  I don’t get a chance to open her out. It is always stopping and starting.
