“This is my first bike tour. We wanted to move a bit. It is easier, faster by bike, and we are heading to the coast. It’s nice to have a destination by the sea.”

Photographer’s notes: The rider is part of a duo of women who had stopped for a quick snack in the Brussels downtown core before moving further along.

Touring in Europe by bike has to be one of the best ways to get around. In Belgium, there are dozens of marked bike routes that criss-cross the country, taking you on detours and side-roads that will show you more than you would easily find by yourself.
