A little alone time to prepare for the club rides

“I took a day off so I could ride. It has been a long time since I was out riding, and this is the first good day. I managed to do about 60 kilometres in two and a half hours – nice and easy.  About 23 kph, but the course was flat. But the bike is important to me. My friends and I, we have a club, Brussels Big Bracket, and I want to get in a few rides before I ride with them.”

Photographer’s notes: This is not the first Big Bracket club rider I have come across. It is only a matter of time before I head off for a ride with their collective. But the weather today was so wonderful, the canal pathway filled with riders, both leisure and those more intent. A nice mix.

The season is coming. Those few months where there will be cyclists on all the roads, every day. Weekends and the canal will be a constant thoroughfare. But, as the legs improve, I will chase into the surrounding hills and look for the other riders, those who have reached some basic fitness and are using the inclines for a few extra challenges. But this Easter week, most of us are staying on the pleasant, flat course of the canals.

I featured Big Bracket for the first time with this post… If youn want to ride more, find a club Link here…
