Testing your wheels in the early hours

©Barry Sandland/TIMB – There are people who like to ride at odd hours. Like after midnight. But if you want some peace and quiet….

“I try and ride a lot, but it has been a bit less now because it is cold… I am riding with friends at night between 10pm and 2am. It is quieter.  It is easier to do a track stand or bunny hop when there are fewer people. There are about four, five, six of us who ride together. We tour around Brussels, around Bois de Cambre. We found a route where we do not cross cars for about 15 minutes and we can ride for an hour and rarely see a car.”

Photographers notes: We stood on the side of the road and chatted for a while about his bike, riding, getting out with friends, and how to keep a bike scratch free after four years.
